| "POP ART has been a large artistic influence on me for most of my life. It's lifespan as an art movement was considerably short according to critics. I believe Pop Art is as relevant today as it ever was because it is all around us. Peeling billboards revealing layers of images are Rosenquist, the skeleton of an abandoned gas station is Ruscha. Warhol is a series of posters repetitively pasted on sides of buildings, Indiana is in the numbers, and Johns and Rauschenberg are picking through litter after a parade on main street - urban life is like living in a Pop Art museum. |
